I'm Aaron Taveras, an independent cartographer based in Arcata, California, and for the last eight years, I have been producing beautiful, accurate custom maps for nearly every purpose and industry. Some past clients have included Stackpole Books, PBS.org, and Science Magazine. Before becoming a freelancer, I worked as a cartographer at the University of Kansas, a contractor cartographer at National Geographic Maps, and a mapping lab manager at Humboldt State University.
As an independent cartographer, I take on all roles, including job management, concept development, prototyping, and production, which allows me to focus more individual attention on each client. I enjoy coming up with creative solutions, combining experimental design concepts with techniques that have beautiful and effective results—I am always trying to create lasting designs.
I offer complete cartographic services including print map design, interactive web map design, 3D map design, geospatial analysis, data collection, and 2D and 3D terrain rendering. If you are interested in what I do, send me an email, let's grab a coffee and talk about your project.
